“High School Musical 4” is coming after years of waiting. While the movie was confirmed in 2016, the actual work for its production started much later. In fact, earlier this year, the movie only entered the pre-production phase.
This means that works behind the scenes have begun, but actual filming will come later. At this phase, the scripts are being written, the staff looks for the locations, the casting is being finalized and more.
Confirmed movie details
Although filming has yet to begin, so far, many things have already been confirmed for the “High School Musical 4” movie. Firstly, the movie was confirmed in 2016, and that was three years ago, so there is no backing down now.
Disney revealed that it was looking for a new batch of cast members for the “High School Musical 4.” a few months after, the studio unveiled the fresh faces for the fourth sequel of the popular school-themed movie. On its website, Joshua Bassett (Ricky), Olivia Rodrigo (Nini), Kate Reinders (Miss Jenn), Matt Cornett (E.J.), Sofia Wylie (Gina), Frankie A. Rodriguez (Carlos), Dara Renee (Kourtney), Larry Saperstein (Big Red) and Julia Lester (Ashlyn) were introduced as the new characters in “HSM4.”
Will the original cast appear in the movie?
Fans are clamoring for the original cast members to be still included in “High School Musical 4” and they are especially asking for the return of Zac Efron as Troy Bolton and Vanessa Hudgens. They are also mentioning Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel, but it seems that only Efron is interested in being in the movie again.
In his interview with Extra TV, Efron shared that there is no problem with him appearing in “HSM4.” he said that “absolutely,” he is willing to be in the film that launched his career. He added that he does not see any reason why he can’t be in the film.
Meanwhile, “High School Musical 4” has an official filming site already. It was announced that it would be filmed in North Penn Highschool and the camera will begin rolling in 2020. With this schedule, it is likely that the movie will be out in 2021.
