Houston, Jan. 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Harvest Exchange (“Harvest”), a software platform that builds public and private digital communities across the financial services sector, announced that it is offering its community enhancing technology to support Portfolios with Purpose (PwP) and its “Classic Challenge,” which kicks off on Monday, January 18. In addition, Harvest Co-Founder and CEO Peter Hans has joined the advisory board of PwP to further help the organization leverage technology and other tools to grow its capabilities, brand and user footprint.
Hans said, “I am honored to join the advisory board of an organization that engages investors to use their talents in support of philanthropy. It’s a great cause and we are thrilled to be part of it.”
Harvest is also providing PwP with a Harvest Private software license for PwP’s first annual Campus Challenge, which launched in late 2015 and pits students from top schools in a competition to raise funds for charity. The Campus Challenge Private Network will allow top finance students to privately engage and securely share their research and best ideas in an exclusive invite-only community for Campus Challenge participants.
How the PwP Classic Challenge works:
Registered contestants select a mock portfolio of five stocks and identify an approved charity of their choice to support. Contestants will also have the opportunity to make a maximum of five trades during the course of the year, for an additional fee, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their PwP portfolio. To register, visit https://portfolioswithpurpose.org/annual-leaderboard
Participants are registered and pay an entry fee in one of three classes, depending on levels of experience: Master, Professional, or Novice. At the end of the calendar year, the three portfolios with the best performance from each class will win a portion of the entry fees, to be directed to the winning contestants' selected charities. PwP Master Class participants have included many leading investors including David Einhorn, Leon Cooperman, Oscar Schafer, Marc Lasry, James Dinan and Kyle Bass. The 2015 Classic Challenge raised $311,540.00 for charity.
“At Harvest, we focus on providing high quality investors with the best tools to get their message out to the marketplace,” said Hans. “We see great brand overlap with PwP and as an advisory board member I now look forward to helping to take this great organization to the next level.”
