In what appears to be an aggressive move to challenge mobile sports cameras in the market today, HTC has reduced the retail price of the Re camera from USD200 to just USD50.
The sale on the periscope-like camera is said to be available for one day only on HTC, Droid Life said, especially for people who are interested in owning a sports camera that would allow them to strap it on your chest, take it in the water, or pass it around people to document moments.
The camera, which comes in white, red, dark or mint blue, is reportedly best when paired with a smartphone. Tech Times said that HTC offered Re as a standalone camera that is compact, fun and easy to use for users who are looking to own a handheld camera that can edit photos and share them in just a press of a button.
However, TechCrunch said with the myriad of accessories and mounts that the camera may not be able to compete with market leaders Sony, or GoPro.
