Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today, with low to medium risks associated.

Data released so far -

  • Australia - TD securities inflation set to rise 0.1% m/m in August, up 1.7% from a year ago. HIA new home sales are down -0.4% in July from June. Company gross operating profit down -1.9% in second quarter. Private sector credit up 0.6% m/m in July from June.

  • New Zealand - ANZ business confidence deteriorated to -29.1 in August from -15.3 in July.

  • Japan - Housing starts up 7.4% in July from a year ago, and construction orders are down -4%

  • Germany - Retail sales rose 1.4% in July from June, up 3.3% from a year ago.

  • Switzerland - KOF leading indicator improved to 100.7 in August from 100.4 in June.

  • Italy - Retail sales are down -0.3% in June, up 1.7% from a year ago. Consumer price index up 0.5% in August from a year ago.

  • Greece - Retail sales are down -0.4% in June.

  • Euro Zone - Consumer price inflation came at same level of 0.2%, better than prior 0.1%

  • India - GDP data is scheduled to be declared at 10:00 GMT.
  • Canada - Current account balance for second quarter to be released at 12:30 GMT.
  • US - Chicago PMI o be released at 13:45 GMT.
  • New Zealand - Terms of trade index to be released at 22:45 GMT.
  • Australia - AIG performance of manufacturing index came at 23:30 GMT.
  • Japan - Capital spending for second quarter to be released at 23:50 GMT.
  • Auctions - US will auction 3 month and 6 month bills at 15:30 GMT.
