Since the new trailer of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 dropped, fans have been excited about what they can expect in the upcoming installment. In the teaser clip, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) can be seen getting steamy with DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti).
While some have been excited that Meredith is going to be romantically involved in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15, others wondered whether the scene was but a dream sequence. Now, it seems that Meredith will indeed have a few sexual encounters in the next season. However, showrunner Krista Vernoff hinted that DeLuca might be just a temporary phase for the Grey Sloan resident, Elite Daily reported.
“One has to grieve, and then one has to move forward and then try a rebound relationship. Then one has to go out into the world with an open heart, and without jadedness or fear, and say, ‘OK, universe. I’m looking. I’m available.’ And they have to dip their toe back into the dating pool,” Vernoff said. So, who will be Meredith’s real prince charming in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15?
Vernoff said she can’t hint at that development but did say “it’s going to be a joyful, funny, complicated journey to get there.” She added that whoever is in store for Meredith, it seems that person is going to surprise audiences as the showrunner said that love oftentimes sweeps people off their feet unexpectedly. But before that happens, however, the showrunner said that the character will first have to “put herself out there,” which is what Meredith will be doing in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15.
This avenue is a great storyline to explore as the character will most likely create a solid connection with its audiences who are also struggling to find genuine partners of their own. And since the next installment is being billed as the “Season of Love,” Meredith won’t be the only one who’s going to go on a romantic journey. “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 is slated for release on Sept. 27 and will have a two-hour premiere episode.
