Google last week started rolling out a new update to the Google search app for Android that enables Marshmallow users to take screenshots using Now on Tap, Engadget reported. The feature greatly simplifies taking screenshots which requires simultaneously pressing Power button and the Volume Down button.
“In the update, we are seeing a new share button when Now on Tap is activated, in the bottom left corner, that takes screenshots and then lets you quickly share them!” Droid-Life explained.
To activate Now on Tap, users need to press and hold the device's home button. Tech Times explains that the Now on Tap menu will pop up as soon as it is activated and an icon at the bottom left corner needs to be tapped to take a screenshot.
Moreover, the screenshot would not include the battery status, network details, Wi-Fi, and other icons in the notification bar. Those who want to include the notification icons can do so by using the hardware buttons to take a screenshot, Phone Arena noted.
After taking the screenshot, user will be directed to the sharing menu that includes Google+, Hangouts, Google Drive, Google Photos, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms. Users can also sharing the screenshot via SMS.
