Google Pixel Slate Release Date, News, Update: Google Confirms Device to Rival iPad

iPad has a new rival, according to Google. The tech giant announces it will launch Google Pixel Slate that can compete with Apple's iPad.

Google has been officially announced its Google Pixel Slate on Tuesday, October. The tech giant confirmed it during the hardware event held in New York City.

Google Pixel Slate is a tablet that features a 12.3-inch display with a resolution of 3000x2000. It has a density of 293 pixels-per-inch. Its panel harnesses LCD technology and can reach up to 400 nits in brightness. It runs Chrome OS, which makes productivity easy on the product.

Google Pixel Slate is powering an 8th generation Intel Core m3, i5 or i7 processor depending on which variant is chosen. When it comes to RAM, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB are available depending what users want.

For interested users, expect the tablet Google Pixel Slate comes with dual front-firing speakers. Google boasts this device will deliver "better surround sound" because of its speakers.

There is an 8-megapixel camera is present on the front and rear of the Google Pixel Slate. There is a sleep button on the hardware and a fingerprint scanner for instant access.

Google Pixel Slate is equipped with two USB-C ports that can be harnessed to charge the device. It also comes with a keyboard that connects to the tablet-it can also be folded to protect its screen.

According to Mirror, Google Pixel Slate Keyboard features a very similar style to Apple's detachable case for the iPad Pro. It is also expensive. However, it offers a really good typing experience.

Its accessory is backlit and features rounded keys. Moreover, Google Pixel Slate comes with a trackpad and a stand to adjust the angle of the device.

Google Pixel Slate starts at £549. According to Express UK, it will arrive "later this year."
