The latest episode of the “Goblin Slayer” anime series ended with a thrilling cliffhanger suggesting that Orcbolg could be dead from severe injuries. However, here is why he will continue to live with help from a bizarre magical ritual in “Goblin Slayer” episode 8.
For a brief recap on what happened before “Goblin Slayer” episode 8, the titular character and his party of Adventurers was caught by surprise by a horde of goblins and its Goblin Champion. Everyone was hurt and close to dying, especially the Priestess until Orcbolg mustered all the strength he has left to kill the Champion.
Unfortunately, his heroic deeds also put him in danger. By the end of episode 7, he was bleeding too much and went unconscious giving viewers the impression that he died. But, of course, it is impossible for the main protagonist of the series to die. And “Goblin Slayer” episode 8 will show fans how he will be revived.
Orcbolg, Priestess, High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizard Priest will all make it back alive out of the Water Town sewers and back to the Sword Maiden’s temple. If “Goblin Slayer” episode 8 will follow closely what happened in the manga series, the next anime installment will start with Orcbolg waking up and he sees that his wounds are completely healed.
Not only that, Orcbolg will wake up in “Goblin Slayer” episode 8 learning that he is sharing the same bed with the Priestess. This is because it is a requirement for the Resurrection Magic to work — the person that needs healing must sleep with a virgin.
In layman’s term “sleeping together” is often interpreted as having a sexual relationship. However, the Sword Maiden explains in the manga that if there is “harlotry” involve, the Resurrection magic will not work. This suggests that Orcbolg and the Priestess will literally just sleep in the same bed in “Goblin Slayer” episode 8 and nothing more.
Meanwhile, the practice of the Resurrection Magic in “Goblin Slayer” episode 8 will also lead to another flashback to a tragic event when Sword Maiden was captured by goblins. The Adventurers’ mission in Water Town continues in the next episode to be released on Nov. 25.
