Global Geopolitical Series: War of words continue between Iran and Israel

After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran against military confrontation saying that Israeli army stands ready to act against any aggression, Iran has hit back saying it has his fingers on the missiles ready to be launched. Speaking at a special government conference at Tel Aviv's Independence Hall to mark Israel's 70th birthday, the prime minister said, “We hear the threats from Iran. IDF fighters and the security branches are ready for any development. We will fight anyone who tries to harm us….. We hear the threats from Iran. IDF fighters and the security branches are ready for any development. We will fight anyone who tries to harm us”. He praised Israel’s strong ally, the U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In response to the Prime Minister Netanyahu’s remarks, the second-in-command of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, threatened Israel on Friday saying, "Do not trust your air bases, they are within the range of fire……Our fingers are on the trigger and the missiles are ready to launch. The moment the enemy decides to act against us, we will launch them….. We have learned ways to overcome our enemies, and we can harm the enemies’ vital interests anywhere we want".
