Global Geo-political Series: U.S. sends powerful armada to Korean waters

It may not be just a U.S. aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson but a full armada heading for the Korean peninsula in order to contain the risks stemming from North Korea because of its irresponsible ballistic missile as nuclear tests. President Trump has said that if China fails to help with North Korea, President Trump would handle North Korean threats unilaterally. The tensions intensified after the US launched missile strikes on a Syrian air base, from where the alleged chemical attacks were carried out. There are concerns that the United States might launch an attack on nuclear sites in North Korea.

While President Trump prefers not to disclose military stance, he seems to have made an exception while speaking to Maria Bartiromo of Fox news.

When asked about the Navy ship heading towards North Korea and Trump’s stance on the country, he first said that he is not going to disclose positions but added, “We are sending an armada, very powerful. We have submarines, very powerful, far more powerful than the aircraft carrier that I can tell you. And we have the best military people on Earth. And I will say this. He is doing the wrong thing. He is doing the wrong thing.”

North Korea is expected to conduct a sixth nuclear test as early as this quarter to commemorate the birth anniversary of Kim Il-Sung, the founding father of North Korea.
