The German wholesale prices for the whole year of 2019 were released today. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the average index of selling prices in wholesale trade came in 0.1 percent below the average index of 2018.
Meanwhile, for the month of December 2019, the selling prices in wholesale trade dropped 1.3 percent on a year-on-year basis. In November 2019 and in October 2019, the annual rates of change had been -2.5 percent and -2.3 percent, respectively.
On the other hand, the selling prices in wholesale trade remained almost unchanged on a sequential basis. The prices came in at 0 percent after recording -0.1 percent in the prior month.
