“Game of Thrones” season 8 is coming next year and fans are eagerly waiting. The series is exciting and often leaves cliffhanger endings, so viewers just naturally just clamor for the next episodes, and the goods news is that it is just months away from its airing date.
But while waiting for “Games of Thrones” season 8 to premiere, many speculations and guesses about what will happen next are being discussed, mainly online. The discussions are more intense this time since it was announced that this will be the finale as the HBO series is already ending its run.
Most probably, the most popular topic is the predictions of who will die in the end. But while there has been an amazing amount of death predictions, guesses on romantic endings are trending too.
In the romance department, fans are predicting that Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) could spend a life together after they get married. However, since the plot is unpredictable, their story could head in a different direction in the finale. Meanwhile, the “Game of Thrones” season 8 filming has wrapped up so fans just have to wait for its premiere.
Episodes
As posted on HBO's website, “Game of Thrones” season 8 will have only 6 episodes and the directors are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, David Nutter, and Miguel Sapochnik, while the writers are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, David Hill, and Bryan Cogman.
New Character
Some avid followers of “GoT” claimed that Laura Elphinstone, an English actress, is joining the cast for a new character addition to “Game of Thrones” season 8. They said that she will be playing as Nora, but since there is no such name in the book, it was assumed that her role would be a minor one. Then again, others suggest that Nora also be playing a significant role and some of the guesses include a citizen of King’s Landing, the Night King’s wife and more.
Air Date
“Game of Thrones” season 8 wrapped up filming last week but director and writer David Benioff confessed that they are still not sure when it will be released.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said, "We honestly don't know yet when the final episodes will air. There's been a lot of back and forth about air dates and that's a long way off from being settled."
