‘Frozen 2’ release date: Official movie trailer sparks plot theories; What are Elsa and Anna looking for?

Frozen

“Frozen 2” is finally coming, and its release date was also announced already. To tease fans about the much-awaited movie sequel, Walt Disney Animation released two trailers so far.

The plot of “Frozen 2” is not really clear as Disney is not releasing details about this. However, with the two video teasers, fans were able to come up with few theories, and they sound just about right.

The theories about Elsa and Anna’s parents

In the first trailer that was released in February, Elsa was shown using her icy powers to freeze the ocean so she can walk over it. She tried and failed many times, but it is not clear what she is trying to do. Her aura is also darker compared to the first film, and this made fans think that she will be facing a battle.

Moreover, fans deduced that Elsa and Anna might be trying to uncover the truth about their parent’s, King Agnarr, and Queen Iduna’s, supposed death. As discussed on Tim Hill podcast, by they may be looking for clues to confirm that their parents really died when their boat sunk during a storm.

If not, there were suggestions that the parents may have survived but stranded or trapped somewhere. There could also be dark forces that want the king and queen dead so they may have also been abducted somewhere and needed to be saved.

The theory about finding the origin of Elsa’s power

In the most recent trailer that was posted in June, observers and fans believe that Elsa and Anna are on a journey to find where the former’s power came from. There was also the narration that states “you must find the truth” and “go north across the enchanted lands” and these convinced the fans even more that they are heading to a place where Elsa’s power is a common thing.

“Frozen 2” is set to arrive in cinemas on Nov. 22. It was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and will still star its original cast that includes Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf) and Jonathan Groff.
