French industrial output came in above expectations in November, according to the data released by statistics agency Insee. Sequentially, industrial production rose 0.3 percent, after it rose 0.5 percent in the prior month. Market expectations were for 0.1 percent rise.
Manufacturing outline dropped 0.1 percent in the month, after it rose 0.6 percent in the prior month. Over the last three months, the industrial output rose moderately by 0.4 percent. Over the last three months, output rose in “other manufacturing” by 1 percent, in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods, in the manufacture of transport equipment and in the manufacture of food products and beverages. On the contrary, it dropped in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply and ait fell in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products.
On a year-on-year basis, the industrial production grew 0.5 percent. Manufacturing output came in at 0.7 percent. Output in “other manufacturing” rose 1.3 percent. Manufacture of machinery and equipment goods grew 1 percent, while manufacture of food products and beverages rose 0.7 percent. The manufacture of transport equipment rose at a moderate pace of 0.2 percent. On the contrary, output dropped sharply in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products and fell a bit in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply.
