“Gears of War 4” has been out for quite some time and the reviews have been encouraging so far. Fans of the series are going crazy over the game as well, but many are still confused as to some aspects of the title. This includes how to claim the free PC version, which comes with the paid console copy. In related news, it would seem that a new update for the game has made levelling up much easier.
Even though the game has only been out a few days, The Coalition already made some changes with the multiplayer aspect of the title in response to complaints by players, Cinemablend reports. The most common gripe that has been leveled at the mode is how much grinding it takes for players to reach higher levels. Now, it’s less aggravating.
For starters, getting the Elite Pack now costs 3500 credits instead of the original 4000. Not that big of a difference but enough to cut the grinding time by a lot. Match completion bonuses have also been increased, regardless of whether players win or lose. Naturally, wins yield higher experience, but at least the losers won’t miss out on too much.
Finally, reaching the next level will now yield 500 credits. This makes getting those sweet, sweet packages a lot easier and will take a lot less time.
Coming to the part about downloading the free PC copy of “Gears of War 4” for those who bought the Xbox One disc, Polygon laid out the simple steps required. First is to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, which should have already happened for those who didn’t tamper with the update system.
Once that’s done, players will need to go to the Windows Store and login in using the same credentials as the one they used to register for the Xbox One version of the game. From there, it’s just a matter of searching for the title and downloading it.
