Making money by creating videos and uploading them to the internet or streaming live videos for any reason has been a legitimate means of earning income for over a decade now. However, one Twitch streamer who goes by the name Ninja recently revealed just how lucrative such a business can be by confirming that he makes over $500,000 a month.
Tyler "Ninja" Blevins is one of the biggest names on the Twitch platform, which streams video game content. In a recent partnership with music figure Drake that absolutely shattered the streaming site’s concurrent viewer record while streaming their session playing the hugely popular Fortnite game, the streamer caught the attention of mainstream media.
In a recent interview with CNBC, Ninja confirmed that he was indeed making hundreds of thousands of dollars every month by streaming, which makes him a multimillionaire when taking his total annual income into consideration. The streamer credited his followers on various social media platforms, as well as his subscribers on YouTube, Twitch, and from Amazon.
"The combination of all those things is really where the collected revenues is coming from. This deal that Amazon Prime and Twitch Prime have together is incredible. Twitch Prime allows people to claim loot and collect loot with specific games, and they recently did a deal with Fortnite, which is the hottest game right now, and that is actually one of the main reasons of influx of subscribers to my stream," Ninja said.
As PC Gamer notes, however, reaching this kind of success isn’t easy and it has proven to be an uphill battle. This makes Ninja’s advice to new streamers that regardless of their aspirations for making it big by doing what they love, getting an education is still important. The Blevins himself kept going to college even as his channel took off. The life of a streamer has been proven a volatile one.
