“Final Fantasy 8: Remastered” has finally received its ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) rating, which hints that the game may be released soon. The title has been tagged as rated “T” for teens, the same label that the original game received.
With “Final Fantasy 8: Remastered” getting a fresh coat of paint, the board has highlighted some aspects of the game that depicts scenes not suitable for younger audiences. Violence, suggestive themes, and depictions of alcohol consumption are those that have been mentioned.
So with “Final Fantasy 8: Remastered” now rated by the ESRB, when can fans expect its arrival? While Square Enix has yet to provide an exact release date for the title, speculations would have it that it will hit the shelves in the fourth quarter of 2019, TechRadar reported.
Final Fantasy 8: Remaster is not a full reimagining
There is a lot of excitement surrounding “Final Fantasy 8: Remastered” given that the franchise’s fan base has been asking the studio to give the game the makeover its deserves. It’s important to remember, however, that the title is merely being given a graphics overhaul and not a complete reimagining similar to what’s been seen with the “Final Fantasy VII: Remake.”
Final Fantasy 8: Remaster improves quality of life for players
The developers have also put an emphasis on the quality of life in “Final Fantasy 8: Remastered,” providing options such being able to turn off random encounters on the map and allowing players to accelerate the game’s progression. PC players are even given the ability to unlock all abilities, items, cards, and more. While some may frown upon this, others are simply happy that Square Enix is providing the flexibility as some may be in it to simply re-experience the title’s story.
The plot revolves around the main protagonist called Squall. Squall’s growth is one of the main strengths of “Final Fantasy 8: Remastered” as his character development will be apparent to those who pay attention to his early demeanor and his attitude when the credit finally rolls. There will also be epic music, fun mini-games, and the junction system that is imperative for a player to know to make the most out of Squall and his comrades.
