The “Far Cry 6” Season Pass will kick off next week, with the release of the game’s first post-launch paid content. Fans who purchased the Season Pass will finally get to play as the fan-favorite “Far Cry” villain named Vaas Montenegro.
Ubisoft announced ahead of the “Far Cry 6” launch that the game’s Season Pass would be composed of three episodes that each focus on a villain from previous games. For the first time in the franchise, fans get to play as these villains.
The brief trailer released for “Far Cry 6” Season Pass suggested that the paid content will also let players get inside the head of the villains and learn more about their past. And what better way to start the Season Pass than a DLC revolving around Vaas.
Vaas was one of the antagonists introduced in “Far Cry 3.” The character had all the right traits to make the perfect villain. In the previous game, Vaas was portrayed as being extremely violent and sadistic, but he is also impulsive and unpredictable. Like most origin stories, it should be interesting for long-time fans to learn what made Vaas the way he was.
However, details about the “Far Cry 6” Season Pass DLC gameplay remain scarce. In an earlier blog post, Ubisoft only said the paid content will feature the familiar “Far Cry” gun combat combined with roguelite elements. “As each villain, you’ll fight to escape the horrors of your own mind starting with nothing but a pistol,” Ubisoft said. But players will be able to acquire new weapons and power boosts throughout the DLC, which will then allow them to dig deeper into the minds of the featured villains.
The “Far Cry 6” paid content titled “Vaas: Insanity” will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Players will need to purchase the Season Pass for $40, which will also give them access to two more paid content, “Pagan: Control” and “Joseph: Collapse” that will be released, respectively, in January and March next year.
The “Far Cry 6” Season Pass also grants access to “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.” Per the same blog post, PC players will get its original version, while console users will get its remastered copy.
