Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are apparently having trouble with their relationship. The supposed cause of the friction between the two is said to involve “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Ellen Pompeo.
The gossip came from the National Enquirer (via the Gossip Cop) tabloid, which said that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi fought because the former was paying too much attention to Pompeo. According to the website, the dispute happened during de Rossi’s launch party, which celebrated the partnership between her publishing company General Public and home-furnishings company Restoration Hardware.
DeGeneres was in attendance during the celebration, along with Kris Jenner, John Legend, and January Jones. As per the source of National Enquirer, de Rossi and Pompeo were “grabbing nonstop,” which prompted Ellen DeGeneres’ outburst.
“Why are you spending so much time talking to her!” the popular host apparently said. However, Gossip Cop disputed this, adding that it got its confirmation from DeGeneres’s friend, who is also in a close relationship with the magazine.
Gossip Cop elaborated that there is plenty of evidence that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi had a great time during the party, citing multiple social media posts. One is the Instagram video uploaded by DeGeneres where the host is seen sweeping the floor, with the video captioned “The woman who sweeps me off my feet.” Portia de Rossi can be seen in the clip shaking her head in amusement as well, indicating that both were indeed enjoying the gathering.
Moreover, Gossip Cop noted that Ellen Pompeo is a dear friend of DeGeneres's. In fact, Pompeo even helped the television host raise money for Degeneres’s Wildlife Fund, so it stands to reason that the two would not fight, especially involving Portia de Rossi.
Judging by all this information, it seems Gossip Cop is right about the whole thing being mere fabrication by the National Enquirer. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been happily married since 2008, with their 10th anniversary on Aug. 16.
