‘Elementary’ Season 7 Air Date, Spoilers: Is the Series Canceled? Plot, Cast, and Other Details We Know

“Elementary” season 7 is next after season 6 concluded in September. With the finale, fans were wondering if it would be renewed since the last episode of the previous season seemed to suggest it was the end. Actually, season 6’s finale was originally designed to be the series’s last episode, so no wonder fans got the idea that it would not return anymore.

So, has “Elementary” season 7 been canceled? Fans should not worry because even if season 6’s finale looked like it was the last, the show was actually renewed for another run. According to Deadline, even though the series has not been one of the strongest performers in the last few seasons, it is still one of CBS’s major profit generators due to international deals and off-network telecasts.

In fact, the network announced that it ordered “Elementary” season 7 while season 6 was still airing in May. Now, the season is being filmed already and the production officially started in July.

Showrunner Rob Doherty revealed some details of what to expect in the upcoming installment. “When we come back in the seventh season, a year will have passed,” he told TV Line. “So all of our characters will have had time to really reflect on what happened at the end of the sixth season.”

“Elementary” season 7 will continue with Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) working to solve mysteries and cases in a new location. They will return to the franchise's roots, where “Sherlock” began – in London.

Now, the production team has a reason for moving them to the U.K. and they said that they chose to go to another place because they felt it was a more suitable environment for the characters.

“Elementary” season 7 has no premiere date yet but it is predicted that it will arrive in April 2019. Once released, fans can watch it in its regular timeslot, 10 p.m., on CBS.
