Fans of FromSoftware games have long-awaited a longer gameplay preview for the upcoming “Elden Ring.” Luckily, their patience will pay off soon as the developer confirms the release of a new 15-minute teaser this week.
“Elden Ring” was announced, along with its first trailer, in 2019. But it was not until earlier this year that fans got a glimpse of its gameplay. But FromSoftware has yet to release an actual gameplay preview with only a few months left before the game’s launch. The good news is that it will change soon.
Developers confirmed that the first “Elden Ring” gameplay preview would be 15 minutes long, and it will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 a.m. PDT / 3 p.m. CET. Fans can watch it through the official Twitch and YouTube channels of Bandai Namco. But developers advise those who want to view it with subtitles in different languages to watch the preview through YouTube.
Based on the confirmed length of the preview, it should be enough to give fans a better idea of how “Elden Ring” will look and perform in-game. While the content of the preview is still unknown, FromSoftware might use this opportunity to showcase the game’s open world.
A 27-second footage allegedly taken from an Xbox One build of the game leaked in October. But the video was too short of showing and only showed one small area of the game’s map.
The first-ever gameplay preview is not the only major event planned for “Elden Ring” this month. FromSoftware had previously announced a Closed Network Test for players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Registration for the test is now closed, but invitation codes will be sent on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Closed Network Test will run on Nov. 12-15 in five three-hour sessions.
Along with the announcement of the Closed Network Test last month, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco also confirmed “Elden Ring” will be released at a later date. Instead of the original plan to launch the game in January, it will now be available on Feb. 25, 2022. The game will also come to PC, but the platform is not included in the upcoming Closed Network Test.
