Doubters of "Devil May Cry 5" information leaks can now start believing as Capcom officially announced the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018.
Capcom finally released the first look at the next main installment of the “Devil May Cry” franchise. Aside from the gritty plot and action-packed gameplay, fans will definitely notice several tweaks in the appearance of returning protagonist Nero.
Nero made his first appearance in “Devil May Cry 4” and has been known for his long silver hair and demonic powers which transformed his entire right arm into something similar to a monster and which is called the Devil Bringer.
In the three-minute announcement trailer revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event, Nero enters the scene looking like he lost his monster arm.
However, after fighting demons with a gun on his left hand, Nero attaches a metal arm to his right one which releases what seems like a strong electric current that blows up his enemies at once. Nero’s new appearance is accompanied by a cleaner-looking haircut.
The story behind Nero’s new arm is closely tied to the introduction of his ally, the brand-new character named Nico. Capcom described Nico as an “expert craftswoman” who created Nero’s metal arm. But interestingly, Capcom hinted in a blog post that Nico made other types of prosthetic arms for the devil-hunting protagonist. It appears to hold some of Nero’s combat powers and abilities which players can unlock as they play “Devil May Cry 5.”
Also teased in the trailer is the slew of new demons Nero has to fight, keeping his own demon-hunting business on a tight schedule. In the beginning of the video, fans will find a giant demon tree planted in the Red Grave City. Shortly after, an array of spiked monsters attack the place and its people.
The “Devil May Cry 5” trailer highlighted only Nero and Nico. But Capcom’s blog post indicated that there will be three other playable characters to be introduced in the upcoming game.
Meanwhile, fans will have to wait for a while to get their hands on the newest “Devil May Cry” game. Capcom announced that it is slated for a spring 2019 release.
Though the announcement trailer was showcased at Microsoft’s E3 2018 stage, the game will also launch on the PC and PlayStation 4.
