The first “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” game was a hit with players thanks to its fast-paced combat, the litany of super moves and of course, Z fighters. The sequel promises to take all of those elements and more and take them to the next level. With better combos, a much bigger world to play in and more choices with character customization, “Bandai Namco’s” latest title is expected to be just as or even more popular than the first. The latest trailer seems to make this case.
In “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2,” players are new characters who will join the “Time Patrol,” according to iDigitalTimes. The mission is to stop some powerful baddie who wants to alter the “Dragon Ball” timeline, which is just basic video games, based on Anime tropes.
However, the villain in question has roped in some of the most powerful antagonists in the “Dragon Ball” universe, which certainly adds to the tension. As a result, the character that the players make will have to do things like infiltrating the enemy camp in order to achieve their objective.
If this is starting to sound nothing like what a “Dragon Ball” game should be, fear not, there are still plenty of battles. Taking player feedback into account, the developers made combos much smoother than the first game and made the super moves even more impressive. The newest trailer also showcased how silky the 60fps offering made the battles look, which is expected to reel in even more players who are picky about framerates.
Comicbook noted, in particular, the new transformations in the trailer, such as the giant “Namekian” and even a “Nimbus” that took on a humanoid form. That’s crazy, even by “Dragon Ball” standards.
In terms of customization, players will get practically unlimited options. They can be of any race in the universe and look exactly as they want. Just to put some pressure on players when making their choices, the race they choose will also determine the abilities they get such as being able to go “Super Saiyan 3,” take on the “Golden Freiza” form or even become “Kid Buu.”
Finally, the world is now seven times larger than the first game. This prompted the need for the addition of vehicles in the game.
