Riichiro Inagaki's story of two friends who rediscovered a world in its stone age took a strange turn during the manga's last chapter. With Tsukasa's supposedly loyal henchman betraying him by suddenly stabbing him in the heart, the story has been placed in an uneasy position for “Dr. Stone” chapter 80.
Fans are left with questions about why Hyoga would betray Tsukasa in the first place. There may be clues in the manga's previous chapter about Hyoga's past but none of them are currently apparent as to Hyoga's true intent. Fans will simply have to read “Dr. Stone” chapter 80 to understand Hyoga's actions.
Despite Hyoga's betrayal of Tsukasa, Senku has bigger problems to contend with beyond his former friend's potential death and the rise of a new enemy in”Dr. Stone” chapter 80. According to OtakuKart, Senku now has to worry about the fact that the Cave of Miracles is no longer a viable source of Nital due to being destroyed using dynamite.
While the Cave of Miracles has been destroyed, OtakuKart does mention that there is still hope for Senku's mission to free everyone from petrification. A certain species of mushrooms can be cultivated to eventually create the Nital needed for Senku's goals but unfortunately, the volume will no longer be as plentiful as the amount supplied by the Cave of Miracles. How exactly Senku will continue to address the setback in “Dr. Stone” chapter 80 has yet to be revealed.
Due to the severity of Hyoga's betrayal, there is now a speculation about Tsukasa's role in the story if he survives his injuries in “Dr. Stone” chapter 80. This may be the wake-up call that Tsukasa needs to understand the good that Senku is trying to do with his own kingdom now that it is revealed that not everyone that Tsukasa revives is as pure in heart as he expects.
Fans can look forward to understanding the aftermath of Hyoga's betrayal when “Dr. Stone” chapter 80 gets released in the upcoming “Weekly Shonen Jump” on Oct. 29. Hopefully, the upcoming chapter can give a clearer picture of Hyoga's intentions behind his betrayal.
