“Designated Survivor” season 4 is not yet officially renewed, but with its good feedback and viewership ratings, fans would certainly see Netflix’s announcement soon. While not officially confirmed yet, details about the fourth installment are available and here are the things we know so far.
Plot
“Designated Survivor” season 4 is expected to pick up from where the third season left off. Season 3 just premiered on June 7 with 10 episodes and it ended with President Tom Kirkman’s (Kiefer Sutherland) re-election as the head of the state. However, is not exactly happy because he still finds the position too much for him.
In fact, in the last few episodes of the drama, he was shown getting advice from a psychiatrist as he is starting to have an identity crisis as his works as the president gets deeper and more complicated. Due to the pressures, he is becoming a manipulative statesman, which he is trying to avoid.
Thus, the viewers can expect President Kirkman struggling to lead morally since there are lots at stake and he also needs to fight off many opponents inside the office especially Cornelius Moss, his long-time Republican nemesis.
Cast and Release Date
As shared on Digital Spy, “Designated Survivor” season 4 will still feature Aaron (Adan Canto), Isabel (Elena Tovar), Dontae (Benjamin Charles Watson), Penny (McKenna Grace), Sasha (Jamie Clayton) and Mars (Anthony Edwards). Italia Ricci who played the POTUS’ advisor Emily may or may not return because of how she walked away feeling devastated after learning many dark secrets in the office. The fourth season, if renewed, is likely to arrive in the first half of 2020.
Korean Drama Adaptation
Meanwhile, aside from “Designated Survivor” season 4, the Korean adaptation of the drama is something to look forward too as well. It will star Ji Jin Hee who will be the lead star Park Moo Jin, a former chemistry professor turned Minister of Environment.
He does not have a big political ambition but was forced to act as President for 60 days as he was the only highest ranking government official left after a terrorist attack annihilated all the politicians who can take over the president’s spot in case he dies. “Designated Survivor 60 Days” is set to be released on July 1 on tvN at 9:30 p.m. KST.
