Unfortunately, there won’t be a “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 189 release this week. To keep the waiting a bit more bearable for fans, here are some of the speculations and predictions doing their rounds online.
In the previous installation of the manga series, most of the chapter was about Obanai Iguro’s backstory. It also revealed why he thought himself as unworthy of Mitsuri Kanroji’s love. Because of what happened in the past, Iguro views himself as possessing a filthy bloodline that needs to be purified.
Iguro was born into a very wealthy family. Unfortunately, this wealth hides a very sinister secret – they were accumulated because his clan partnered with a half-snake demoness and all of the clan's wealth once belonged to the demoness’ victims. What is even more chilling was the fact that his clan is willing to sacrifice its entire male members and feed them to the demon in exchange for wealth.
But this hatred for his bloodline might play an important role in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 189. While Muzan Kibutsuji is indeed a very powerful demon, his strength has not lessened Iguro’s resolve at fighting him no matter what the cost.
For whatever reason, Muzan appeared to be targeting Kanroji in the previous chapter. Given the fact that Iguro is in love with Mitsuri, it is highly likely that he will do everything he can to stop the demon for good.
But the question fans are asking is whether Iguro has what it takes to take down the boss of all demons. On the surface, he appears confident that if he bet his life on the line, he just might take Muzan down with him. Thus confidence even spawned a “Demon Slayer” chapter 189 speculation that perhaps Iguro might be hiding a trump card of sorts that just might surprise the demon.
However, other “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 189” speculations are not too sure about Iguro’s capability to deal with Muzan. Previously, the combined abilities of the demon slayers were unable to cope with the demon.
Even if Obanai has some secret up his sleeve, it might not be enough the deal with Muzan. A clash between the two could end up in Obanai’s defeat, and perhaps, even death.
That’s why it is likely that a direct confrontation between the two would only end up in Mitsuri’s heartbreak. She already explicitly stated that she does not want Obanai to perish but the latter seems convinced that dying in a fight against Muzan is the best way to cleanse himself of his tainted bloodline.
Unfortunately, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 189 won’t be released this weekend. Fans can expect the next installment to be available by January 6, 2020.
