Since its founding in 2009, with both Henze and Voss at the helm, the Datameer team has consistently delivered industry-first innovations, ranging from its namesake product being the first big data analytics solution built natively on Hadoop, to Smart Analytics, which makes applying advanced algorithms to big data as simple as drag-and-drop. Datameer Smart Execution, which automatically selects the best execution engine for processing big data analyses, and most recently, SmartAI, an industry-first solution for deploying AI to the enterprise at big data scale, are also among countless other product innovations Datameer brought to market that push the envelope in terms of big data democratization.
The Innovation Office will be focused on identifying market trends for long-term product investments, partnering closely with Thiagarajan who will be in charge of driving and delivering roadmap alongside Datameer’s engineering team. Thiagarajan joined Datameer in early 2015, bringing over 20 years of experience in product management and strategy from data industry leaders like Sybase, IBM, Tibco, and most recently, Hortonworks.
