“Cyberpunk 2077,” by Polish video game rock star developer CD Projekt Red, was always going to be a massive hit. However, this expectation was mostly fueled by hype and hope based on the studio’s history. In a recent gameplay reveal, fans were vindicated for having such overwhelming confidence in the developers. Not only is the gameplay slick, the world of “Cyberpunk 2077” is positively alive.
Released on the official “Cyberpunk 2077” YouTube Channel, the gameplay video is over 48 minutes long. CD Projekt Red certainly didn’t hold anything back with this reveal, which is already racking up a lot of views. If every single one of those digits will purchase the game upon release, the developers practically have a guaranteed hit on their hands.
Coming back to the gameplay video, it plays through different parts of the title. Character creation was showed off, along with combat and how players will be able to interact with the world. Cyber augmentations and deeper concepts of what it means to be human were touched on as well. Suffice it to say, “Cyberpunk 2077” is on the road to becoming Game of the Year once it launches.
As GameSpot notes, this is the same footage that was shown to select members of the press during the most recent E3 event. Until the reveal was made, fans only had the word of journalists and YouTube personalities on how good the game is. With the release of the video, everyone now has a better understanding of just how amazing “Cyberpunk 2077” is going to be.
Now, it’s worth noting that the video released was captured from a product that is still being worked on. As such, it could have some major differences compared to the final product. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” saw some huge changes before release, so “Cyberpunk 2077” is likely to be the same. There is no word yet on when the game will launch.
