Some might have thought that Lelouch died for good in the original series. However, the upcoming release of “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” in 2019 proves otherwise.
Some believe that Lelouch died by the end of the original series. It can also be noted that the official trailer for “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” narrates that Lelouch “died.” However, fans argue that the main protagonist did not die and was only exiled. If so, “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” is likely going to show how Lelouch returns and regains his power.

These plot speculations along with what was shown in the trailer give fans a good look at how the events in “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” will unfold. The same trailer seems to be focusing on what the world has become since Lelouch’s supposed death. At one point, the narrator in the trailer asks fans, “Does it turn out to be orderly or chaotic?” So some might sense a plot twist, which includes Lelouch’s surprise return.
Fans might have been disappointed upon learning that “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” is not an anime series but a sequel film. Nevertheless, it is expected to continue the story of the series as it was shown in the original anime series and trilogy movie.
The upcoming film “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” follows the release of a movie trilogy that practically summarized all episodes in the original anime series. But the creators also included new scenes in the said trilogy without altering the overall plot.

Since “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” is a sequel, it means new storylines are going to be explored. This is somehow confirmed in the official trailer, when the narrator talks about a “new door” that will be opened. Does this mean the movie will be set in multiple dimensions? Some fans believe it will be, according to ComicBook.
“Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” is confirmed to premiere in February 2019 in at least 120 theaters in Japan. As for fans in North America, Funimation secured the rights to release the sequel outside Japan. And there are speculations that the English-dubbed version will premiere a couple of months after its Japanese release.
