R&B singer Chris Brown will be the subject of a new documentary titled “Welcome To My Life,” set to be released in theaters in June this year. The documentary is said to chronicle Brown’s career, his run-ins with the law, and his past relationships with Rihanna and Karrueche Tran.
Rap-Up said the documentary was a long-time coming, considering the fact that Brown himself released a trailer for the documentary last year. The documentary will feature comments from Brown’s collaborators and friends, including Jamie Foxx, Usher, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, and Rita Ora. It will also include comments from the troubled singer himself, as he talks about his future.
A new trailer was also released this week, with Brown saying, "I went from being America's sweetheart to public enemy number one."
Buzzfeed said the documentary generates a lot of response online, especially for people who have followed Brown’s transgressions, including his abusive behavior towards women and his drug addiction. In 2009, Brown beat up former girlfriend Rihanna, and subsequently pleaded guilty to felony assault, prompting anger from women everywhere and even ex-fans. He is also currently embroiled in a legal battle against Tran, of whom the latter filed a restraining order for allegedly punching her and throwing her down a flight of stairs.
However, some of Brown’s diehard fans are excited not only because the documentary could signal a comeback, but a new album titled “Heartbreak On A Full Moon” the singer will be released the same month.
