San Diego, CA, Sept. 06, 2017 -- Cali Bamboo, the direct-to-consumer and omnichannel leader in both flooring and decking, has named industry veteran and former Shaw Industries divisional Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Doug Jackson, as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Leveraging Cali’s unique direct-to-consumer platform and authentic brand and augmenting the company’s deep leadership team, Jackson will lead the sales and marketing functions to drive accelerated growth.
Cali Bamboo Founder and CEO Jeff Goldberg notes, “Doug brings the perfect combination of channel expertise and creative thinking to Cali Bamboo as wecontinue to harness the power of our unique direct-to-consumer platform. We are experiencing tremendous, disruptive success in multiple product categoriesthrough our differentiated go-to-market strategies and technologies; yet, we and Doug share a conviction that Cali has only scratched the surface of the opportunities ahead.”
Regarding his new company, Jackson says, "I see Cali Bamboo accomplishing today what a lot of people in flooring and, frankly, many other industries have been trying to figure out without much success. I think we are leading the transformation of this enormous industry, and it's very exciting to be on the front side of thatdisruption."
Jackson brings over 20 years of experience at Shaw where he most recently directed the Tuftex division, a premier residential carpet brand. Under his management, the flat-lining Tuftex saw substantial EBITDA growth through a combination of marketing, pricing science, and cost-cutting measures. He is known for facilitating strategic, long term business relationships with customers in the dealer, national account, and trade channels -- three arenas where Cali Bamboo is positioned for considerable further growth.
Remarking on Cali’s unique omnichannel platform, Jackson says, "I'm impressed by the innovative ways Cali Bamboo directly satisfies consumer demand whilealso successfully serving the varying needs of the trade, dealer, and big box channels - I’ve never seen this done before, and it’s a big reason I’m here."
Jackson’s industry insight and proven skills are a welcome addition to the team, especially as the company prepares for its next phase of growth. The move follows a banner year which saw more than an 80% increase in Cali Bamboo revenue, the introduction of new flooring and decking lines, and inclusion on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies List for the ninth consecutive year.
Speaking on the big career move, Jackson notes, "I wanted to help lead a company that is the future of the industry. The Cali platform is so revolutionary in theflooring and building materials space that, coupled with our mission, it's an amazing opportunity."
Jackson adds, "Looking at the energy, sophistication, excitement and youth in the company, I am thrilled to be a part of where this platform is heading."
