Caitriona Balfe is most known for her role as Claire Fraser in the “Outlander” series and of course, it will not be complete without Sam Heughan who act as her husband, Jamie Fraser. The stars have already starred for at least 70 episodes since “Outlander” season 1 and fans never get tired of their unusual love story.
Now, since Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan have been playing Claire and Jamie Fraser for a long time now, do they still have difficulties acting out their characters? Or perhaps, have they somehow gotten tired of their roles at some point?
In her previous interview with Variety, Caitriona Balfe revealed that while some actors might find it hard to play the same character for a long time, she feels different.
“There’s a comfortability you have because you’ve been playing this character so long but I think every season is so different and this season we explore such a different side of Claire,” Caitriona shared.
The actress added that because Claire’s character is not just a mother, a woman and a wife, she was able to show how rounded person she is and being able to portray such character with many sides is a great experience on her part as an actress. Thus, Caitriona Balfe said that she actually feels lucky to get to play Claire.
In another chat with Caitriona Balfe, the actress, further disclosed what fans can see from Claire and Jamie in “Outlander” season 4 as the show progress. “Well, I think what has been really interesting about being able to portray these two characters this season is that we get to explore the dynamics of what a mature relationship is.”
She added, “ There is something deeper and much more solid in their relationship this season and even just having those quiet moments of domesticity and seeing Jamie and Claire creating this home and building this house.”
Fans who follow “Outlander” season 4 already know that Claire and Jamie settled in America and they build their new home there. They are hoping to have a peaceful life as they are finally reunited and won’t be separated by time-traveling again. there will still be tragedies along the way but Caitriona Balfe stated that the two will have longer time together this time as husband and wife.
“Outlander” season 4 airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on Starz.
