Burger King is leaning on mistaken identity to help promote its plant-based burger range and features the tagline, “Often mistaken for the original: the plant-based Whopper.”
The message is you can mistake ordinary people for celebrities or vegetables for meat.
The campaign, launched in Germany and created by Grabarz & Partner, features a bunch of people with celebrity names eating Hungry Jacks.
To attract the services of big names, such as Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, and Michael Jordan, Burger King didn't have to spend a fortune on marketing.
Instead, it's being more inventive by reaching out to regular people with the same name!
The campaign also includes a social media challenge in which users who have the same name as celebrities are encouraged.
