“GTA 6” is not the only title video game fans are hoping for Rockstar Games to announce. Fans of the studio have also been wishing for the announcement of “Bully 2,” and a new report suggests it could happen soon.
“Bully 2” is one of the most-anticipated sequels from Rockstar Games. However, there have been previous reports that the developer decided to cancel the project sometime in 2017. Leaker Tez2 speculated at the time that the sequel may have been canceled because Rockstar wanted to put more developers and resources into the development of “GTA 6.”
It was then quite surprising when Tom Henderson, another gaming leaker with a good track record, reported that the “Bully 2” announcement was a “potential surprise” at The Game Awards last week. Henderson added that some people were shown materials of the sequel that hinted at its imminent reveal.
The game was not announced at The Game Awards, but Henderson maintained that “Bully 2” appears to be in the works. While most information about the sequel is still under wraps, the leaker said that a “playable version” — reportedly different from the game’s canceled version — of the sequel was also shown to a few individuals a couple of weeks before The Game Awards took place.
Meanwhile, an editor for the Game Informer also sparked hype among fans after seemingly hinting at an imminent “Bully 2” announcement. The tweet is currently not visible to the public, but another Game Informer staff has since clarified that the online post was not referencing a “Bully 2” reveal. It is then possible that the publication could be preparing a story about the canceled “Bully 2” project.
For now, it is best to take the reports with a grain of salt. It is quite impossible, even for known leakers, to predict which all-new game Rockstar is going to announce next. But if reports about the continuation of “Bully 2” development are accurate, that could put the release window of “GTA 6” further behind. It is also worth noting that the studio has yet to release the enhanced and expanded edition of “GTA V” for current-gen consoles.
