Briferendum series: France issues migrant threat upon Brexit

Fear show is not just over.

France has issued fresh threats that Britain would face if voters choose to leave in June 23rd referendum. It has shown two fear card at the moment - migrants and red carpet.

If Brexit is to happen, France to let the border control end that has prevented thousands of migrants in French coastal town of Calais from migrating to Britain. Comments came from French finance Minister Emmanuel Marcon during an Anglo-French security summit. "The day this relationship unravels, migrants will no longer be in Calais".

That is not it. He also said, the rules those allow British Banks to operate in European Union would be lost and collective energy would be spent to unwind the links rather than creating new ones.

Paris would be very happy to even roll out red carpets for banks fleeing London.

While threats are part of strategy to help British voters to help in choosing to decide to stay within EU, it nevertheless shows the level of threat in leaving the Union. If EU and France do take those steps, these risks are real.
