Formerly serving as executive vice president of people and culture at one of the world’s leading confectionary companies, Gumbs’ vast experience aligns with and complements Centennial’s mission to help companies be more strategic in their efforts to hire, retain, and reward their best talent. A 13-year client of Centennial in her former HR role, Gumbs brings an invaluable perspective to her new role at the company.
Gumbs has thirty years of human resources and business leadership experience, having spent the past twenty years in senior executive positions. “Brenda has a passion for helping companies recognize the value of the HR function, identifying HR solutions to business problems, and uncovering people-related business opportunities. In short, she is a master at the art of talent management,” said Mike Sipple Jr., president of Centennial.
"Brenda is my go-to advisor on talent optimization. Her experience, insight, and perspective relative to employee engagement and retention have been the cornerstone of her support. Brenda's ability to size up a situation and sort through the noise is critical. She simply gets it: how to optimize business results through outstanding talent management,” said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International.
Organizations today are on the frontlines of a war for talent. It’s not just about hiring the right people; it’s about engaging the right leaders in strategic conversations. Doing so enables these companies to align their talent strategy with their business strategy, and consider the needs of the future that may be ignored today, such as succession planning.
"We are fortunate to serve great leaders, boards, and organizations in their efforts not just to hire the right people, but to consider the long-term impact of each employee. Brenda understands why we do what we do, and that’s one of the many reasons we brought her into this leadership position,” said Sipple. “Our mission is to teach organizations how to excel in the areas of hiring, retention, and engagement, and to get them thinking about the future state of their business. Brenda is the kind of leader that will help us do just that."
