Boston Calling’s food & drink offerings in General Admission and VIP will be folded directly into the festival’s expanded layout this year allowing festival goers to catch performances from the likes of Eminem, The Killers, Jack White, and more, while choosing from over 35 local restaurants and vendors, 11 of which are new. Boston’s wood-fired favorite Area Four joins the food & drink lineup this year, as does Cambridge’s Commonwealth and its array of chef driven sandwiches, local cult favorite Union Square Donuts, the mobile Middle Eastern standout, The Chubby Chickpea, and Jaju Pierogi, to name a few.

Returning all-star eateries and dishes in General Admission include The Smoke Shop, with its popular BBQ Bomb, a giant waffle cone filled with pit beans, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and choice of brisket, pulled pork or smoked chicken, Moyzilla’s Hand-Folded Classic Dumplings, Stone and Skillet’s English Muffin Pizzas, and Zinneken’s Belgian Waffles. The festival also welcomes back El Pelon Taqueria and their Taco Plates and Burrito Bowls, vegan ice cream favorite FoMu, local burger icon Tasty Burger, which is expanding its setup this year to include stations for Tasty Dogs and Tasty Tots, and Whole Heart Provisions, serving its signature veggie bowls, such as the Viet Style, with roasted broccoli, smashed cucumber, blistered green beans, cured tomato, basil, peanut crumble, and spicy peanut dressing.

For Boston Calling VIP and Platinum ticketholders, a select menu from acclaimed Boston restaurants and chefs will be available. In VIP’s new “Boardwalk Lounge” area, Will Gilson, Chef and owner of Puritan & Company will offer Tacos, Sandwiches and Bowls, with Braised Pork, Marinated Chicken or Grilled Vegetables, while Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse will serve up Prime Sliders, and Love Art Sushi will feature its Shoyu Tuna Poke Bowl and Avocado Ponzu Boat, among other items.

Each night of the festival, Platinum VIP ticketholders will be treated to menus from some of the city’s biggest culinary stars. Friday evening will feature an Island Creek Oyster display with Oysters, Shrimp Cocktail and Littleneck Clams all presented and served in Island Creek’s signature ice-filled island boat. For Friday’s main menu, Chef Colin Lynch of Bar Mezzana will serve up several options including Root Vegetable Salad with Squash Hummus and Feta, Porcetta Sandwiches, and Roman Gnocchi with Mushroom Ragout. Saturday night’s menu in Platinum VIP will be prepared by James Beard nominated Chef Tiffani Faison of Tiger Mama and Sweet Cheeks and feature offerings such as a Fried Chicken Sandwich Bar with Sweet Cheeks’ Biscuits, Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Nashville Hot Chicken, Pickles, Condiments & Spreads and a Tiger Cheeks Shrimp & Crab Boil with Sweet Boiled Shrimp & Crab, Potatoes, Corn & Rice, and Spicy Soy ButterChef Chris Coombs of Boston Chops will deliver a Sunday afternoon menu including the Boston Chops Home Wrecker Hotdog loaded with bacon, pickled cabbage, house-made mustard, aioli, and crispy onions and an evening menu starring a carving station for Beef tenderloin sandwiches with horseradish cream, crispy onions and Moroccan spiced lamb with yogurt sauce, cucumber salad, grilled pita.
