“Bosch” season 5 is going to premiere in less than a month and here are some of the interesting plot details that were previously confirmed. LAPD Detective Hieronymus 'Harry' Bosch (Titus Welliver) will continue to face the reality of Eleanor’s (Sarah Clarke) death some time after the tragic event and deal with the changes that it brings to the table.
Eleanor was killed halfway through season 4 while Bosch was hell-bent to focus on work. Fans can expect that Eleanor’s death will still have an effect on the titular character in “Bosch” season 5.
Showrunner Dan Pyne previously confirmed to IndieWire that “Bosch” season 5 will begin after a significant time jump from Eleanor’s death. “When we pick up Season 5, we’re going to be about a year and a bit later. There’s gonna have been a passage of time, so it won’t feel immediate,” Pyne explained.
Though Eleanor’s death was a tragedy for Bosch and his daughter, Maddie (Madison Lintz), it will also allow them to have a stronger relationship in “Bosch” season 5. But after losing Eleanor, it would be interesting to see whether Bosch will take lesser risks on the job for the sake of his daughter.
In the latest “Bosch” season 5 trailer, Maddie tells her father to be more careful at his job because he is all she has left, referencing to Eleanor’s death. Ironically, the new episodes will be focused on Bosch’s all-new dangerous job.
Slowing down and taking lesser risks do not seem like part of Bosch’s to-do list. Despite Maddie’s wish, Bosch is taking on an all-new line of work — being undercover in “Bosch” season 5. “[Bosch] has to go undercover, and he has no cellphone, he has no panic button, he can’t wear a wire, and he has no idea where this is going to take him,” Welliver told Entertainment Weekly.
The latest trailer for “Bosch” season 5 also shows the titular character in a very dicey situation as he loses communication with Edgar (Jamie Hector). Headquarters also cannot easily abort the mission because it might endanger Bosch as well. New episodes will stream on Amazon Prime on Friday, April 19.
