The “Boruto” official website has just released the preview for “Boruto” Episode 69. Fans of the show will be excited to know that the Chocho story arc looks to be more exciting as the character arc looks to be wrapping up.
At the start of “Boruto's” Chocho arc, Team 7 and 10 were given the mission to protect the stars of a popular soap opera, Romy and Julie. Chocho Akimichi, a fan of the soap opera, was delighted to find out that Team 7 and 10 would be guarding her favorite soap opera's stars, Tomaru and Ashina.
Chocho, who is usually unfazed by her weight, started using her butterfly mode to make herself thinner to hopefully win Tomaru's affections. This, unfortunately, put the team at a disadvantage as the butterfly technique, while powerful, does not allow Chocho to be as flexible with her body modification techniques on the battlefield. This allowed the first Amegakure ninja assailants to escape.
Chocho got further distracted from the job by being offered a part in the soap opera. Tomaru had found the butterfly-technique-using Chocho attractive and offered the Akimichi ninja to substitute for one of the injured actors. This divided Chocho's attention between the body-guarding job and potentially being able to kiss her soap opera crush.
Unfortunately, Cho Cho got rejected, albeit indirectly, by Tomaru, who said that he was not interested in girls who are not slim when Tomaru encountered Chocho when she lost control over her butterfly form. This was also the moment when the Amegakure ninjas decided to strike once again.
In the episode 69 preview, we still see Cho Cho using the Butterfly technique to keep herself thin. It also seems that Chocho's distraction about her appearance and her infatuation with Tomaru will end up with Team 7 and 10 potentially failing their mission, with the gas-masked ninja carrying Tomaru over his shoulders and demanding ransom. Fans can look forward to how Team 7 and 10 will work together to rescue Tomaru and how Chocho will get through her heartbreak.
Fans looking forward to what happens next in the Chocho story arc can expect “Boruto” Episode 69 to air on Aug. 16 on Crunchyroll.
