The unknown masked ninja will attack once more in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69. This time, unfortunately, he appears to have successfully kidnapped Tomaru. Is Chocho still up for the task of saving him?
Episode 68 just aired and it was really an emotionally painful one for Chocho, the focus of the current arc. However, their mission continues and will likely become more challenging in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69.
To those who have watched episode 68, they may recall that the masked shinobi was once again shown in the very final scene. He was talking to somebody on the phone while holding photos of Tomaru and Ashina. The scene suggests that he will be carrying out his previously failed task in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69 which has something to do with the actors.
In the final seconds of the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69 preview, the masked attacker is seen invading the filming set again where Ashina, Tomaru, Team 10, and Team 7 are. Obviously, Boruto and the other shinobis were unable to stop the unknown ninja as he is seen carrying an unconscious Tomaru on his shoulder.
A distraught Ashina is seen in the same preview, which hints that the following episode will be serious and challenging. Team 10 and Team 7 also appear to be going on a search mission in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69 to save Tomaru.
Meanwhile, the protagonists are worried about Chocho. In episode 68, Sarada almost attacked Tomaru after he said he does not like Chocho because “fat girls like [her] aren’t [his] type.” But Chocho seems to still be deeply in love with Tomaru moving on to “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69.
The same preview shows Chocho’s teammates raising some concerns. Apparently, the Akimichi shinobi goes back to her slimmer figure for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69 even after Tomaru’s rejection. Since Chocho cannot go on a full rampage while in butterfly transformation mode, her teammates are worried that she might jeopardize the mission again just like what happened in episode 67.
“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 69 is titled “Super Chocho Love Upheaval.” Without any delays, it is likely to air this coming Thursday, Aug. 16.
