A character is due for a major comeback in the upcoming episodes of “Blue Bloods” season 9. His return hints at a huge arc focused on Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and that Linda’s death was not an accident.
Danny was led to believe that Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips) was killed in the first episode. But Delgado’s role turned out to be one of the biggest surprises in “Blue Bloods” season 9. CarterMatt reported that the hitman is slated to return in an episode next month.
“Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 7’s title, “By Hook or by Crook,” also seems to be describing what Danny’s mindset will be in this installment. The official synopsis reads, “Things get personal for Danny when Luis Delgado, the drug cartel hitman responsible for torching his house, resurfaces.”
Fans may recall that the drug cartel member and hired gun named Delgado was introduced in the “Blue Bloods” season 9 opener. He admitted to burning down Danny’s house and regretted that the detective’s family was not killed from it.
During Delgado’s first appearance in “Blue Bloods” season 9, he also cryptically brought up the subject of Linda’s (Amy Carlson) death. Season 8 showed fans it was due to a helicopter crash. But now that Delgado is being all smug about it, it cannot be ruled out that he could have made the so-called accident happen.
Delgado’s previous taunts most likely convinced Danny that his case is something he needed to continuously work on. By doing so, Danny will likely learn soon that the beheaded corpse is not Delgado’s. And before he knew it, his nemesis will be back in “Blue Bloods” season 9, causing him more trouble.
In other Danny-related spoilers, the teaser for “Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 5 reveals that the eldest of the Reagan siblings will be needing help from Eddie (Vanessa Ray). It seems that his boys, Jack (Tony Terraciano) and Sean (Andrew Terraciano), are in some sort of trouble.
It is interesting why Danny is opting to get help from Eddie and not from his other siblings. While Eddie sorts out his boys’ issues, Danny and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) will investigate a murder attempt on a “celebrated fertility doctor” in “Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 5.
Viewers can catch new episodes of “Blue Bloods” season 9 every Friday. Episode 5 will air on Oct. 26 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
