“Blue Bloods” season 9 is set to air with a family-centered story as it will feature more narratives that are happening inside the Reagan clan. In fact, the upcoming pilot episode will show the family together at a dinner table and someone will join them.
Yes, Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) will join the Reagans for dinner and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) has something to say to everyone. Apparently, the two will formally announce their engagement and this is a great development since the fans have been clamoring for them to date already.
Moreover, the engagement scenario was also explained by the show’s executive producer, Kevin Wade. How and why did they decide to finally allow Eddie and Jamie to be together in “Blue Bloods” season 9?
“This idea that they’d be engaged to be married, and yet still riding together as cop partners — we had to address that right at the top,” Entertainment Weekly quoted Wade as saying.
“Like anybody in a relationship, you think, ‘Nothing’s going to change, right?’ They’ve been together all these years, they know each other inside and out,” Vanessa Ray added. “But what they’re constantly coming up against is ‘Man, it has changed.’”
The first-look photo shows Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) having dinner with everyone present. It also shows Jamie, while holding hands with Eddie, speaking to his family as he drops the happy news.
Erin Reagan’s (Bridget Moynahan) promotion to the DA office is another highlight to see in “Blue Bloods” season 9. She will be in a tight spot as her new post also means that her brothers will ask for her help to get restricted information about their cases.
In any case, “Blue Bloods” season 9 is already confirmed to premiere on Sept. 28 on CBS. It will feature a total of 22 episodes and the title for the pilot was revealed as well. According to TV Line, the series will kick off with its first episode titled “Playing with Fire.”
