“Blue Bloods” Season 10 has yet to be ordered by CBS and some fans are worried about the future of the police procedural series. The apprehension comes from the fact that none of the main actors have renewed their contracts yet. However, show star Tom Selleck revealed that this isn’t too surprising and provided an explanation of why this is, CBS 58 reported.

“Typically, most cast members sign contracts for six or seven years upon joining a show, and then after that, they tend to negotiate on an annual or semi-annual basis. A lot of it depends on each actor’s desire to continue the show, the monetary value of the contract, studio demands, or other factors,” Selleck explained. Going by this statement, it’s safe to assume that “Blue Bloods” Season 10 will be happening.

This is especially true since the series was voted as CBS’ fourth-best drama series by Ranker, only lagging behind “Criminal Minds,” “Salvation,” and “NCIS.” Even though the show isn’t as popular as it once was, its ratings are nothing to scoff at either. And with the current plot having a lot of loose ends to tie up, “Blue Bloods” Season 10 has a lot of avenues to explore, CheatSheet reported.

There’s also the fact that series is garnering a lot of love from its fan base, especially from New York police officers. Show star Vanessa Ray said that she often gets recognized by coppers when walking the streets of the Big Apple and is usually asked for a photograph. While the success of the show can be attributed to the unique cases that it tackles, the family element of it is also another factor for its popularity. The weekly family dinner scene highlights this element the most and there’s no doubt that “Blue Bloods” Season 10 will be continuing this tradition.

With regards to the episode count of the tenth installment, nothing has been announced just yet. But going by how CBS is handling everything so far, a 22 episode is likely to happen. If the network greenlights “Blue Bloods” Season 10, audiences can expect it drop on September 2019. All of the installments has dropped in the same month and there’s no indication that this will change in the future.
