Blockchain platform Gem unveils GemOS and Revenue Cycle Management Pilot

Gem, a leading blockchain platform provider, has announced a Revenue Cycle Management Pilot that runs on the Gem Health Network and also unveiled its core product GemOS, a flexible blockchain platform.

According to the official release, the announcements were made during the Distributed: Health conference in Nashville, TN. Being a modular and agnostic platform, GenOS connects proprietary technology to shared networks. The platform will enable custom logic development for firms that are developing scalable blockchain applications for health, insurance, finance and identity.

“We are using GemOS to create a pilot network around a specific use case that can be scaled into a full ecosystem. That is when blockchain-enabled business logic can begin to flow between market partners and unlock value,” Micah Winkelspecht, founder and CEO of Gem said.

The Revenue Cycle Management pilot is supported by Gem Health Network (GHN) and runs on GemOS. Using GemOS instances, the GHN is a federal blockchain that is designed to support particular use case development. The pilot will see participants like a global commercial bank with other leading companies seeking to achieve cross-industry data and process integrity.

“The vast amount of data that flows in and out of a simple medical claim creates impact beyond that workflow. Our partners want to use this data to solve real problems that affect the industry today, and we believe the solution requires network integrity that is independent of a central administrator,” Winkelspecht added.

He also stated that the healthcare companies need proof that blockchain can be applied to real-time issues that require focusing a single business use case and scaling it through stakeholders’ network.

Software, service or stakeholder in the revenue cycle value chain, can contact Gem in order to learn more about using the distributed technology for medical claims and also to know how to get involved.
