Blockchain Intelligence Group (BIG) has announced the appointment of Bernd Petak as a strategic technology advisor to the company to assist in reviewing strategic and corporate opportunities.
Petak is an investment professional, corporate director, founder, advisor, and consultant to early and mid-stage technology companies and their investors. He has held a variety of positions in the field of technology, financial and advisory.
Following a decade-long tenure at ‘Big four’ consultancy firm Deloitte, Petak founded his own startup in 2003, which exited via strategic sale. In addition, he acted as interim CFO of a major Canadian bank lending institution and is a multi-time CEO, CFO and COO.
Currently, he is investment partner for Northmark Ventures, a technology investment firm based in Whitehorse, Vancouver and Calgary. He sits on the board of Screenscape, a leading provider of internet-delivered digital signage products and advises a number of companies focusing on financial and blockchain technology.
“Mr. Petak’s FinTech background along with his entrepreneurial experiences will be a tremendous asset to us as we start to ramp up the marketing of our products and services”, Lance Morginn, CEO of BIG stated.
Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Blockchain Intelligence Group is a developer of Blockchain technology solutions, search and data analytics. The firm says that its propriety platform will globally target governments, law enforcement and the fintech sector. Earlier in June, the company entered into non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with RSK Labs with the intent to collaborate with RSK Labs. Also, it signed an exclusive license agreement with BMEX Corporation (BMEX), a company that runs a network of Bitcoin ATMs across Japan.
