“Black Clover” chapter 168 is coming to fill in the gaps in that chapter 168 left behind. The elves have returned with a vengeance and the Black Bulls have to deal with the elven magic that has attacked the Royal Capital.
Captain Yami of the Black Bulls witnessed the reincarnation magic spell deployed by the elves but is unsure of what the spell has done. He is then confronted by the elven corrupted forms of Owen and Marx Francois. The former advisors of the Magic Emperor have been possessed by the elves who are hungry for vengeance against humanity for trying to wipe out the elven race in the past.
During Yami's battle with the former Owen and Marx Francois, the two elves realize the importance of Julius Novachrono's body to Yami, and try to destroy it in front of the Black Bull captain. Thankfully, Yami is able to subdue both Owen and Marx by destroying Owen's Qualle Operation and knocking them both out by flanking them.
At the end of the chapter, a new enemy presents herself to Yami. Charlotte Roselei, captain of the Blue Rose squad, has also been possessed by the elves and seems to be looking for a fight.
Fans of the series are left wondering how Black Bull captain Yami will be able to handle Roselei considering that the Blue Rose squad captain is in love with Yami. Considering Roselei's battle prowess and magic capability augmented by the elven spirit possessing her, it will definitely be a tough fight for Yami and there is the possibility that only one of them will walk away from the upcoming fight in “Black Clover” chapter 169.
There is the slim chance that Roselei's love for Yami might be able to fight back the elven possession, but considering the skill and lethality of both fighters, Roselei will have to snap out of the possession quickly or risk getting killed by Yami if he doesn't hold back due to how dangerous Roselei is. Fans of the serialized manga can expect “Black Clover” chapter 169 to appear in the next issue of Shonen Jump due to be released on Aug. 20.
