‘Big Little Lies’ season 1’s episode 7, titled “You Get What You Need," will follow Celeste as she finally makes her bold move against another fight with Perry. Meanwhile, Jane is set to discover the real culprit behind Amabella’s bullying at school.
The synopsis for “You Get What You Need” posted on TV Guide reads, “In the Season 1 finale, Celeste (Nicole Kidman) makes a bold move after another fight; Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) deals with fallout from her past before the school's fall fund-raiser; and Jane (Shailene Woodley) learns who's really been hurting Amabella (Ivy George) at school.”
The previous episode, titled "Burning Love," featured Celeste’s attempts to pull her life together after suffering from abuse from her husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) for too long. Her therapist advised that she needs to get away from him by moving into a rented apartment. Celeste was also told that she needed to disclose the abuse to her friends should she need witnesses in a potential custody battle against Perry.
When Perry tried to initiate rough intimacy with Celeste, she rejected him. Perry’s anger and aggression led to Celeste defending herself and hitting him in the groin with a tennis racquet. He had to receive medical care for injury in his private parts.
Perry then warned Celeste that she was lucky he didn’t kill her. Celeste then began to look for an apartment the next day.
According to Hidden Remote, the upcoming episode may finally see Celeste confiding in one of her friends about the abuse she has been receiving from Perry. It was also hinted that Celeste and Perry will fight in public and that Celeste may finally retaliate to protect herself.
Meanwhile, Jane is set to discover the real culprit behind the bullying of Renata’s (Laura Dern) child, Amabella, in the upcoming episode. Her own son, Ziggy (Iain Armitage), had been accused of hurting Amabella, which led to the threat of his suspension in school.
Jane finally confronted Renata in the previous episode, resulting in a fight that made Jane gouge Renata’s eye. Jane then later apologized after realizing that they were both acting out of maternal defense for their children. Renata accepted her apology and confided her plan of scheduling playdates with each of Amabella’s classmates to find the real bully.
‘Big Little Lies’ season 1’s episode 7, titled “You Get What You Need," is scheduled to air on HBO on April 2, 2017. It was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and written by David E. Kelley.
