There are a lot of questions surrounding “Better Call Saul” Season 5 right now, a lot of which have to do with just how far Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) will go. Fans already know the kind of man he is going to be thanks to his stint in “Breaking Bad.” However, is he going to be so bad that he would abandon Kim (Rhea Seehorn) if she was in danger? There is also the matter of Gene to think about.
As OtakuKart notes, “Better Call Saul” Season 5 might see Kim being put in a dangerous situation. This would then lead to a ton of issues for Jimmy, especially as he transitions into Saul Goodman. Basically, he is set to become exactly the kind of person that could easily abandon his friends when in a pinch. However, will he actually do that to Kim?
His female counterpart is the love of his life, after all, and up until season 4, no one would think of Jimmy as being capable of hurting her. Then again, “Better Call Saul” Season 5 could actually see Jimmy disappear and Saul take his place. Unlike the character embodied by Bob Odenkirk in the show, so far, Saul has no qualms about abandoning people if it suited his needs.
There is also the matter of his present situation as Gene to think about. As fans would already know, the show takes places in the past, even all the way up to “Better Call Saul” Season 5. This means that the timeline that Gene occupies is, for all intents and purposes, the present.
Will the upcoming season actually involve him meeting someone in his past? Will Kim still be alive or will he have already left her to die? These are the questions that “Better Call Saul” Season 5 will need to answer. As to when it could come out, the premiere could be late this year or early 2020 if production ends soon.
