‘Beauty and the Beast’ is set to return for a fourth and final season with episode 1 airing on June 2. The episode, entitled “Monsieur et Madame Bête", will open with Vincent and Cat as newlyweds enjoying their honeymoon.
A promotional photograph shared also showed the two snuggling in bed while looking into each other’s eyes. A synopsis posted on Spoiler TV also stated, “VINCENT AND CAT’S HONEYMOON GETS CUT SHORT — Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat’s (Kristin Kreuk) wedded bliss comes to a halt when they learn from J.T. (Austin Basis) that someone is trying to expose the identities of beasts. While on the hunt to find out who is behind the threat, Tess (Nina Lisandrello) is reluctant to help since they are all trying to move forward with an attempt at normal lives. Nicole Gale Anderson also stars.”
The first episode’s promo began with Vincent and Cat exchanging wedding vows. It then followed with scenes of the two in complete wedded bliss – biking through vineyards and dinners with wine. Their seemingly perfect start to a new life is shaken when Cat exclaims, “Beast hunters?!”
The teaser suggested that the newlyweds will soon face brand new threats of exposure despite working hard to live a life of normalcy together. The preceding season saw Vincent and Cat exposing their relationship to the world despite the repercussions. They have chosen to live as a couple while pushing off outside threats as well as people just waiting to break them apart.
Meanwhile, actress Nina Lisandrello, who plays police captain Tess Vargas in the show, hinted that the final season will be the best one yet. According to Examiner, she said, "Season four is the best season… I'm really happy we ended on that note. It's the strongest season we have. Everyone's on the top of their game and story-wise it's the strongest we've ever been. I was very happy to walk away from the show after season four. I could sleep at night and be like, I think everyone can be satisfied with how the show ended."
‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 4 is scheduled to debut on The CW on June 2, 2016.
