The post-launch roadmap for “Back 4 Blood” was revealed recently, giving fans an idea of the content and updates arriving in the coming months and next year. Some of the first major additions to the game can be expected next month, along with an important update for solo players.
It can be recalled that developer Turtle Rock Studios faced some backlash shortly before the game launched last Oct. 12. Players who had early access learned that if they chose to play in solo offline mode, none of their efforts would matter because the game does not keep track of their progress unless they play online.
While “Back 4 Blood” received generally favorable reviews, it was one of the things that disappointed fans at launch. The developer has apologized for its approach to offline gaming, and the newly released post-launch roadmap appears to prove that Turtle Rock Studios intends to fix the issue.

There are not that many changes expected this month, aside from the quality of life improvements and bug fixes. But December will be a bigger month for “Back 4 Blood” players as the developer promises to release new content next month.
Also listed under the “Back 4 Blood” December update is the “solo offline with campaign progression.” Turtle Rock Studios has yet to clarify how this will be different from the solo offline mode’s state at launch, which did not allow players to gain Supply Points, earn Accomplishments progress, or track their stats.
The developer will also release a slew of new features next month. “Back 4 Blood” can expect a holiday-themed event, new Supply Lines, a Ridden practice area, new cards, and a new card type. These are all going to be part of a free update next month.
More content and features are lined up for 2022 free updates. “Back 4 Blood” is promised to receive a new difficulty level, new player cards, new corruption cards, a new co-op mode, and melee updates sometime next year. Meanwhile, those who have the “Back 4 Blood” Annual Pass should look forward to three expansions in 2022, starting with “Tunnels of Terror.”
